Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation

Press release

from Grandmaster John St. James - Founder and President

It is with great joy that I announce the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Foundation's second ever grant award for $1,000 dollars to Mr. Kevin E. Mahon, Sam Dan chief instructor of USA Martial Arts Academy at the Gifford Youth Activity Center in Vero Beach, Florida.

USA Martial Arts Academy offers a non-profit/non-pay Tang Soo Do program to the children of the Gifford Youth Activity Center in Vero Beach and will be starting a second program very shortly at Operation Hope in Fellsmere, Florida. Fellsmere is a very rural area with many migrant workers that pick fruit from the orange groves.

The primary mission of USA Martial Arts Academy is to keep at-risk children off the streets and bring them in to a safe environment that teaches the values and benefits of traditional Tang Soo Do. The children are destined to succeed in life because they are taught goal setting, self-esteem, discipline, and persistence at an early age.

The Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Foundation is a Non-Profit (501C3) organization centered on serving the community and dedicated to sharing how the martial arts and Tang Soo Do in particular can change lives for the better no matter the background or status of an individual.
